Framingham To Participate in National Drug Take Back Day April 27
FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham will participate in the National Take Back Drugs Day on Saturday, April 27
The event will be held in the parking lot between the Memorial Building and the Police Department at 150 Concord Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be a drive-thru event.
The national program aims to prevent medication abuse and theft by accepting pills, patches, liquids, and ointments for disposal. This is a great time to eliminate unwanted, unused, and expired drugs and medications from your home.
No questions will be asked regarding ownership of the items, and participation will be anonymous.
Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from home medicine cabinets.
Other methods of disposal, such as flushing drugs down the toilet or throwing them in the trash, pose safety and health hazards.
The event is being held by the Framingham Health Department, along with the Medical Reserve Corps and Framingham Police.
