Framingham Public Schools Are 'Safe Havens for our Students' Amid Political Turmoil: Superintendent
In a message to the FPS community, Interim Superintendent Edward Gotgart weighed in on national events.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — As many families feel uncertainty or fear in light of national political events, Framingham Public Schools Interim Superintendent Edward Gotgart has reached out to the community.
In a letter to students and their families this week, he wrote:
Dear Students and Families,
National events over this past week have raised the concerns of many residents about their safety and
security; often, these anxious feelings are shared by the children of these families. The Framingham Public
Schools has a long and proud history of supporting its families, especially those who have recently arrived
here, by providing a welcoming and safe environment for their children. We celebrate our diversity and
embrace all students, no matter where they have come from, and we value the richness of the global
experiences that our students bring with them every day.
Our schools have always been safe havens for our students and we assure you that they will continue to be so.
If your child needs help navigating the flood of bad stories and disturbing events, please let us know so that
we may assist them in any way that we can. Our staff are here to offer help and support through these
difficult and confusing times. There is nothing more important to us than our students feeling welcomed and
valued as members of the Framingham Public Schools. Please do consider us as your partner in this
important work on behalf of your children, our students.
