Framingham Skater Will Perform at National Send-Off Showcase on December 18th
Event at The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood is free and open to the public and will feature national and international athletes

The Skating Club of Boston, New England’s premier center for figure skating, is hosting a National Send-Off showcase on Thursday, December 18th at 6:30 pm for their local skaters heading to the 2026 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, January 5-11. This event is an important, final qualifier for making the U.S. Figure Skating Olympic team for senior athletes.
Framingham resident, Mia Iwase, 14, will compete in the junior women’s competition. Mia came in third in the Eastern Sectional Singles Finals in November.
The Club will have 18 skaters in the senior and junior competitions and the National Send-Off is a free and open to the public event which is an opportunity for the local community to check out skating programs and wish skaters luck in the nation’s top competition. On Sunday, January 11th, senior skaters will be named to the U.S. Figure Skating’s national team to compete at the 2026 Olympics. Some of these very same Bostonians will be vying for a spot on the team.

“This showcase is a great opportunity for the Boston community to support our local skaters as they head off to the U.S. Championships,” said Doug Zeghibe, CEO and Executive Director of The Skating Club of Boston. “Especially in this Olympic season, every competition counts and having the hometown support means a lot to these skaters who have been training and competing for months for the opportunity to compete on the national and international stage.”
The National Send-Off event will be held at The Tenley E. Albright Performance Center at The Skating Club of Boston. The Center is located at 750 University Ave. in Norwood, MA, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Boston. Admission and parking are free.
