Framingham State Celebrates 50 Years Of Danforth Art Museum, School
A celebration event has been scheduled for later this month. Here's what to know.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Danforth Art Museum and School at Framingham State University has announced a 50th anniversary celebration.
The event, and the anniversary, will mark "five decades of inspiring creativity, fostering education, and enriching the cultural life of the MetroWest community," officials said.
The milestone will be commemorated with a celebration on Nov. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Village Hall in Framingham.

The evening will feature a VIP pre-reception, silent auction, live music and culinary delights, bringing together artists, patrons, alumni and community members to celebrate the museum’s history and future.
Proceeds from the event will support the Danforth’s exhibitions, educational programs and outreach initiatives, officials said.

Founded in 1975, the Danforth has served as a hub for artistic expression and learning, offering gallery exhibitions, art classes and programs that engage visitors of all ages.
Over the past half-century, it has showcased the work of emerging and established artists, provided arts education to thousands of students, and nurtured a vibrant creative community.
“For five decades, the Danforth has been a place where art, education, and community come together in powerful ways,” said Nancy Niemi, President of Framingham State University. “Its exhibitions and programs have inspired generations of artists and art lovers, while enriching the cultural life of MetroWest and beyond. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we are also looking forward to the Danforth’s next chapter as an essential part of Framingham State’s mission to foster creativity and connection.”
