Framingham State Solar Canopy Result Of 'Unique' Partnership

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham State University officials will unveil a new solar canopy that was the result of a "unique public-private partnership," school officials said.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday from 1: 30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Salem End Parking Lot, 23 Salem End Rd., followed by an educational presentation in the McAuliffe Center Planetarium, 53 State St.

The public is invited to attend the event that will be attended by Framingham State President Nancy S. Niemi, Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Commissioner Elizabeth Mahony, and executives with Solect Energy, the PowerOptions Consortium and city and state elected officials.
