Framingham Teen Charged In Cambridge Shooting

Three teenagers were charged in the daytime shooting that the Middlesex District Attorney's Office called "brazen."

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham teenager is one of three people charged in a "brazen" daytime Cambridge shooting, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office announced.

On Feb. 24 around 2:15 p.m., a Cambridge police officer was handling an unrelated call for service on School Street when they heard what they believed to be multiple gunshots coming from the direction of Bishop Allen Drive.

The officer immediately called for assistance and attempted to intervene as they observed several suspects flee the area. As additional officers arrived to assist, evidence was located confirming that multiple shots were fired, officials said.

Investigators spoke with witnesses and collected surveillance video from the surrounding area. From the information gathered, detectives were able to identify three male juveniles as suspects.

A search warrant was obtained and served at the Cambridge home of one of the suspects, yielding additional evidence, including a 30-round capacity magazine and ammunition, allegedly linking these suspects to the shooting, officials said.

The Framingham teenager was arraigned on a charge of accessory after the fact. He was also charged with assault and battery on a police officer.

A 17-year-old Cambridge teenager was arraigned on assault with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a firearm and ammunition without a license charges. He was also charged with possession of a large capacity magazine and ammunition.

A 14-year-old Boston teenager was arraigned on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.
