Framingham Varsity Volleyball Coach Will Be Familiar With Flyers
Superintendent Stacy Scott still needs to approve Framingham High Principal Elyse Torbert's picks for varsity and j.v. coaches.

If approved by the Superintendent of Schools, the new varsity girls volleyball coach at Framingham High will be very familiar with the program.
Framingham High Principal is recommending freshman girls volleyball coach Stephanie Oliveira be the girls varsity volleyball coach for the 2015 season.
Torbert has also recommended Kelly Bergen be hired as the girls junior varsity volleyball coach.

Torbert said the high school will have 3 levels of girls volleyball this fall season - a varsity, junior varsity, and a freshman program.
“I don’t see any obstacles,” Torbert told Framingham Patch.
In regards to a freshman coach, Torbert said Oliveira “has reached out to several alumni who have expressed interest in coaching the freshmen girls team but we have not officially hired anyone yet. I anticipate things to be settled by the end of the week.”
After parents became concerned that the season might not happen as there was no coach the day school began, Torbert stepped in and asked Oliveira to run tryouts on Thursday.
In is unknown why last season’s head coach Emily Viti, who is employed at Framingham High in the Resiliency For Life department, is not returning as varsity coach.
Viti was both the girls volleyball head coach in the fall and the boys volleyball head coach in the spring.
It is unknown if Viti, who was in her 10th season as boys volleyball head coach and led that squad to the MIAA Division 1 Central finals last year as the #9 seed, will be back as the boys varsity coach in spring 2016.
Scott told Framingham Patch last month he could not discuss a personnel matter, when he was asked if Viti‘s contract was not being renewed.
At Tuesday night’s Selectmen meeting Scott thanks Viti for her previous years coaching the volleyball team and mentioned she welcomed her second child in August.
