Framingham Warns Of Summer Festival 'Scam'

Parks and Recreation officials say flyers are circulating looking for vendors. The problem? Framingham isn't actually hosting the event.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Parks and Recreation officials are warning residents of what they believe to be a scam targeting local vendors.

Officials shared this week that flyers for a "Summerfest" event are circulating around the city and seeking vendors for four dates in July.

The problem? Those same officials say they aren't actually hosting the event.

"The City is [not] holding a SUMMERFEST at Cushing Memorial Park in July," officials said.

"Please do not give any money for a vendor booth as this is a [scam]."

Officials ask that vendors report anyone trying to collect money as part of the situation to police at 508-872-1212.
