Framingham's U13 Travel Baseball Captures Championship
The team went undefeated at 21-0, and was undefeated last season at 25-0, for an impressive 46-0 over two seasons.

Framingham’s U13 Travel Baseball team captured the 2015 LTA C Championship title.
The championship victory completed an undefeated season for the team at 21-0.
“For the second consecutive summer, a group of Framingham baseball players I coached went undefeated and won the championship,” said coach Jon Beverly.

“This year, we were 21-0 and just won the LTA C Championship,” said Beverly. “Last season, the same core group of players went 25-0 and captured the 2014 A-70 Bay State Championship, meaning this group has now gone an impressive 46-0 in the past two summers.”
Team members include: Jack Beverly, Jonah Cahil Farella, Jack Corsi, James Draughn, Andrew Keane, Derek Marifiote, Jack Murphy, TJ Nolan, Stuart Savelle, Nick Seeto, Sam Stubbs, Ryan Urato, and Sam Whiting.

The team was coached by: Beverly, Bob Keane, and Glen Stubbs.
“Not many teams go undefeated, especially in a sport like baseball, and this group has now done it in back-to-back seasons against Eastern Massachusetts teams,” said Beverly.

Championship game summaries by Coach Jon Beverly
In the first round game on Thursday, Framingham (#1 seed) beat Natick (#4 seed) 2-0 behind Nick Seeto’s complete game, 1-hitter.In a close, hard-fought baseball game,
Framingham scored both of their runs in the third inning when Andrew Keane led off with a walk and Nick Seeto reached on an error.
After Ryan Urato sacrifice bunted both runners to second and third, Jack Beverly (1 for 3, RBI) squeezed Keane home for a 1-0 lead. After a walk to Sam Whiting, Seeto scored on a balk by the Natick pitcher, making the score 2-0.Framingham would threaten again in the 4th when Jack Murphy (2 for 3) led off with a single and Derek Marifiote laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Murphy into scoring position. However, the Natick pitcher would get the next two batters out, leaving the Framingham lead at 2-0.
Fortunately, that would be all the run support Nick Seeto would need as he struck out 7 and only walked one batter en route to his 1-hitter.
In the 14-2 semi-final win on Saturday versus Parkway (#7 seed), Sam Whiting and Sam Stubbs combined for a 3-hitter and kept the dangerous Parkway lineup at bay.
Framingham pounded out 10 hits in the mercy-shortened game.
Framingham got on the board in the first inning after Nick Seeto (2 for 2 with an RBI) led off with a double, stole third, and scored on a bunt hit by Jack Beverly (1 for 2, 2 SBs, 2RBIs).
Beverly then stole second and scored on a Jack Corsi’s (1 for 2, RBI) base hit.The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the third, when Framingham sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs.
James Draughn (2 for 3, RBI, 5 SBs) led off the inning with a walk and promptly stole second and third.Sam Whiting (1 for 2, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI) then squeezed Draughn home and beat out the throw to first.Parkway got on the board by scoring two runs in the 4th making the score 7-2.
Framingham tacked on a run in the fourth and then sealed the game in the 5th when Sam Stubbs (1 for 2, 3 RBIs) hit a bases clearing double scoring James Draughn, Derek Marifiote (who pinch-ran for Corsi), and Sam Whiting, making the score 13-2.
Andrew Keane (1 for 2, 2 RBIs) drove in the 14th run to enact the 12-run mercy rule and propel Framingham into the championship game versus Medford at Belmont High School.
Jack Murphy was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a stolen base and Ryan Urato played brilliantly at catcher, not allowing a stolen base all day.
In the championship game on Sunday versus Medford (#2 seed), the U13s captured the LTA C Championship by coming from behind to win 3-1.
Down 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth, lead-off batter Nick Seeto (2 SBs) walked and stole second and third.With one out, Jack Beverly (2 for 3 with 1 RBI) laid down a perfect bunt that scored Seeto to tie the game.
Beverly then stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch.James Draughn (1 for 3, RBI) tripled in Beverly to take the lead 2-1 for Framingham.
Draughn scored an insurance run on wild pitch to give Framingham a 3-1 lead. Seeto then came in to pitch the 7th inning to get the save in a 1-2-3 inning.Sam Whiting was 1 for 3 with two stolen bases.
Jack Beverly started the game and pitched six innings, giving up three hits, striking out 3, and only allowing one run.Jack Corsi (1 for 3) had many stellar plays at first base, stabbing a would-be line drive single in the first and making two sweep tags on throws at first to record outs.
The win ran the LTA C Team’s overall record to 21-0.
