Grade 6 Flyers Lose to Rival Natick

Next up for the Framingham Youth Football team is the home opener against Needham on Sunday, Sept 13.

Saturday, the Framingham Youth Football grade 6 team travelled to rival territory to play in one of the biggest matchups of the year.

It was the annual Framingham vs. Natick game that always draws lots of interest and passion from fans, players, and coaches.

The Flyers started the game by kicking off the ball to Natick, who quickly a drive that resulted in a touchdown. After a 2-point kick, the Redhawks led 8-0 early on.

The Flyer offense couldn’t get much going in the first half but they had some defensive highlights such as a huge hit by Adam Al-Nammari, a fumble recovery by Jacques Cazeau, and an interception by Ashton Dupras. After Natick scored on a safety by Framingham and a long touchdown pass, the Flyers were down 16-0 at halftime.

The Framingham played better football in the second half, only giving up one touchdown on a 5-yard Natick run. Running back Cody Coleman had a few exciting runs but the Flyers couldn’t finish their drives and score.

On the defensive side of the ball, Coleman had an interception, Alexander Lopez blocked an extra point, and Kevin Branch II and Kavaun Smith had some clutch tackles.

The Flyers lost the game 22-0.
