Here's Why Your Water Might Be Brown In Framingham

The city's starting its annual water main flushing program soon.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—The Water Department's annual Water Main Flushing Program continues in sections of Framingham through Friday, June 15.

The flushing takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in residential areas and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in business areas. The purpose of the Water Main Flushing Program is to improve drinking water quality for residents and businesses in Framingham, said the DPW.

The flushing process may cause discolored water and a reduction in pressure. The discoloration of the water will be temporary and is not harmful. If the condition persists, contact the Framingham Water Department.
