The trio of brothers Sam, Jack, and Eric announced in December 2014, that they had outgrown its Morton Street location and planned to expand to the former Avery Dennison building.

The new site is 67,000 square feet and will feature a brewery, a tap room, a 5,000-squre foot restaurant, and retail space.

The brothers opened in 2011 and were named the small business of the year by the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce in 2013.

The 5,000-square foot restaurant to be called Jack’s Abby Beer Hall will have 175 seats.

The brothers hired chef Greg Bergeron from Stone’s Public House in Ashland to create the new menu, which will feature wood fire pizza.

Bergeron told selectmen the menu is still a work in progress but Sam Hendler in the company’s latest video construction update said the menu will feature ”great comfort food.”

The restaurant will have ”huge 18-foot tables” and a u-shaped bar. Dozens of brews will be on tap, including some exclusively to the restaurant.

“We want food that is awesome to eat with a big glass of beer,” Hendler said, in the company’s most recent video.

Construction began this spring.

Framingham Town Meeting approved a 7-year tax for the small business in April by a vote of 139-2-2.

The brewery currently employs 19 full-time employees and when the project is complete and additional 35 full-time employees would be added.

And while the tax break is for 7 years, the brewery signed a 12-year lease for its new downtown location.

The company has expanded several times and have won regional and national awards along the way.

The name, Jack’s Abby Brewing, pays homage to co-founder Jack Hendler’s wife, Abby, while evoking the tradition of monastic groups in Europe who create handcrafted beers in their abbeys.

The brothers are inspired by the tradition of craft brewing using quality local ingredients, mindful labor and great recipes to create delicious, authentic beer. Click here for beers, available now.
