Man Dead After Framingham Assault
Oezel Sari, 64, died at Tufts Medical Center after he was assaulted over the weekend, officials said.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — A man has died after he was assaulted over the weekend, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said.
Craig West, 39, has been charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery on a person over 60, following a physical altercation that occurred on Saturday in Framingham.
The victim of that attack, Oezel Sari, 64, was pronounced dead today at Tufts Medical Center.

At approximately 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, a witness called 911 to report an assault on the sidewalk on Concord Street. Framingham Police responded to the scene and located the victim, who was responsive but had sustained injuries from the attack.
He was transported to the hospital, where he died on Monday.

Video surveillance recovered at the scene allegedly showed West and another individual approach the victim. West allegedly physically assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.
This investigation is still active and ongoing. The matter has been referred to the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
