Staff can typically handle 22 cats a day, and the appointments book up quickly, said the City’s animal control director.
The Catmobile returns to Framingham on July 1 and July 15, as well as August 5 and 19. The vehicle will be parked in front of the Framingham Animal Control building at 50 Western Avenue.
The program accepts vouchers from the Mass Animal Fund and Animal Control can help assist in obtaining a voucher for individuals on state aid.
Director of Framingham Animal Control, Kathy Mackenzie emphasized that nobody should be turned away.
“It’s open to everyone and it’s reducing the over pet population, so it’s a huge benefit to the communities,” she said.
The program is also recommended for those who feel overwhelmed with pet responsibilities,
“It’s a nice option for people to be able to maintain their pet, instead of having to put it up for adoption because they can’t afford to care for it,” she said.
