No Injuries In Framingham State Dorm Fire
One student from the affected room was displaced, officials said.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, the Framingham Fire Department responded to a box alarm system notification for 16 State St., Corrinne Towers, at Framingham State University.
Upon arrival, crews were met by Framingham State University Police, who reported a fire on the sixth floor of the residence hall. Firefighters proceeded to the sixth floor, where they found the blaze contained by the activation of the building’s sprinkler system.
Crews completed extinguishment and worked to ventilate smoke from the building, remaining on scene until approximately 3 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it appears to be accidental in nature. Only one student from the affected room was displaced. No injuries were reported.
“This incident highlights the importance of quick notification, a properly functioning sprinkler system, and keeping the door to the fire room closed,” said Fire Chief Michael Dutcher. “These combined factors played a crucial role in preventing further damage and ensuring everyone’s safety.”
