Peter Donato Participates in Emmanuel College Alternative Spring Break in Phoenix

During the week of March 8th, Peter Donato of Framingham participated in the College’s annual Alternative Spring Break trip to Phoenix, Arizona.

Emmanuel volunteers served at two local organizations, Andre House of Hospitality and the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. Andre House is a nonprofit organization, sponsored by the priests and brothers of Holy Cross from the University of Notre Dame, that serves the poor and homeless in the city.

Students worked with the Andre House staff performing various tasks such as office work, laundry, clothes sorting and distribution and food preparation and service.
With the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, a Catholic lay organization, Emmanuel volunteers spent the week gardening, preparing and cleaning up after meals, building shelves and sorting food from food drives.
