Framingham Fire Displaces 8 (patch.com) — Eight residents were forced from their Arlington Street home after a Friday morning fire in Framingham that also killed two cats and injured three firefighters. Crews rescued three dogs and knocked down the blaze in about an hour, and the Framingham Fire Department and Fire Prevention Division are still investigating the cause.

Central Mass. state universities receive share of $13M for at-risk students (wbjournal.com) — Framingham State University is receiving $1.32 million in new state SUCCESS grant funding to expand tutoring and wraparound support for at-risk students, including help with transportation, child care, food, and mental health. The money is part of a $13 million statewide package and will directly bolster services that help Framingham students stay enrolled and graduate.
