Police: Pedestrian Struck on Route 9 Has Life Threatening Injuries
The Marlborough man, 35, was struck by a vehicle driven by a Hopkinton man, on Friday night, April 3 in Framingham.

A Marlborough man, 35, was found unconscious on Route 9, with life threatening head trauma, after being struck by a vehicle driven by a Hopkinton man on Friday night, April 3, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.
Framingham Police and Fire responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Route 9 (1701 Worcester Road) near the Southborough line at 10:29 p.m. on April 3.
Police officers found a man, 35, believed to be from Marlborough, “unconscious in road with life threatening head trauma,” said Lt. Cronin.

His identification is not being released pending next of kin notification, said Lt. Cronin
The man was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, via ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian is Jerry Melon, 66, of Hopkinton. He remained on the scene after the crash and was cooperating with police, said Lt. Cronin.
His vehicle had significant damage to the windshield and its roof.
Framingham Police Crime scene services responded, photographed the scene and collected evidence, said Lt. Cronin.
Mass State Police Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.
Alcohol did not appear to be a factor with driver, and no charges have been filed against driver at this time, said Lt. Cronin.
The crash remains under investigation with the Massachusetts State Police and the Framingham Police.
