Route 9 Restaurant Closes in Framingham
The Mexican restaurant wants to continue to do business in Framingham, but at a new downtown location.
For the third time in less than 5 years, a restaurant has closed at 250 Worcester Road in Framingham.
The latest restaurant is Taqueria Mexico.
The Mexican-themed restaurant, however, does have plans to stay in business in Framingham. It will go before Framingham Selectmen Wednesday, April 8, requesting to transfer its alcohol and operating license to 40 Concord Street in Framingham.

The Olmedo family, which also operates a Mexican restaurant in Waltham, renovated and opened Taqueria Mexico in July 2013. It hopes to continue to operate in Framingham, just not on Route 9, according to its website and paperwork files at the Memorial Building.
Prior to Taqueria Mexico, the Top Shelf restaurant was located at 250 Worcester Road. It opened in June 2011 but closed on Jan. 1. 2013.

Before that, Bronzetti Pizzeria Bar & Grill opened in 2008 and closed in early 2011 at that same address.
