Sen. Spilka Headlining MetroWest Chamber Luncheon Friday

Karen Spilka, who is chair of the Senate's Ways and Means Committee, will offer an economic forecast at the MetroWest Chamber event.

State Sen. Karen Spilka, who represents Framingham and is chair of the Senate’s Ways & Means Committee, will be the keynote speaker at the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce’s Exec-Connect Luncheon on Friday, April 17, at the Hampton Inn in Natick.

In a pivotal role as chair of the Senate’s Ways & Means Committee, Spilka is uniquely qualified to speak about the state budget and how it will impact the regional economy, said Chamber CEO & President Bonnie Biocchi.

The Committee oversees the budget and finances of the Commonwealth.

Sen. Spilka represents the 2nd Middlesex and Norfolk district, which includes the towns of Ashland, Framingham, Franklin, Holliston, Hopkinton, Medway, and Natick.

She is also Senate Chair of the MetroWest Legislative Caucus, the Biotech Caucus, and the Tech Hub Caucus.

Spilka’s legislative accomplishments include efforts in a broad range of areas including economic development, jobs creation, education, women’s health and equality, juvenile justice and services for the elderly and disabled communities, said a press release.

The luncheon starts at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, April 17.
