H&M, Hennes & Mauritz AB, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers famous for offering fashion-forward apparel at affordable prices, opened its 12th store in the Commonwealth yesterday, Aug. 14.

Yesterday, the Natick employees and some of their fellow employees from throughout the Commonwealth sand and dance in front of the store before and official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The new H&M location offers one-stop shopping for quality clothing for the whole family, with collections ranging from ladies, men, young ladies, and young men to separate “store within a store” sections for accessories, lingerie and sports apparel. There is no kids department in the Natick store.

“The breadth and variety of H&M collections make it easier for any consumer to find suitable products, no matter his or her style or wardrobe needs. With an emphasis on design, quality, and sustainability, H&M offers inspiring, of-the-moment fashion at an unbeatable value,” stated a press release from the company.

The first 100 shoppers in line, received an H&M bag, with either a t-shirt or an umbrella, with a gift card to use that day. Coupons and discounts were given and raffled away at the grand opening too.

H&M offered many grand opening specials. There were skater skirts for $4.99, lace tank tops at $4.99, cardigans for $14.99, maxi dresses at $14.99, and cropped jackets at $7.

Since H&M opened the doors to its first US store on New York’s Fifth Avenue 15 years ago, America has been one of the retailer’s most successful markets, said a company spokesperson.

Natick is the retailer’s 378th store in the United States. The company has more than 3,600 stores world-wide.

As one of the world’s largest retailers famous for their fashion-forward apparel and quality basics, H&M was the largest organic cotton user in the world in 2013.

H&M is committed to exclusively using organic cotton in all of its collections by 2020.

As part of H&M’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, the Natick Mall store offers the latest in sustainable fashion as part of the spring 2015 collection. Customers could purchase organic cotton t-shirts yesterday, and there was a special two t-shirt deal for $12.

H&M is the first fashion company to roll out a global garment recycling program.

Through this initiative, H&M customers at Natick Mall store can help save natural resources and contribute to a reduced environmental impact by donating unwanted pieces of clothing from any brand while in the store.

Customers will receive a voucher for 15 percent off their entire next purchase for each bag of donated clothing. This is an ongoing promotion, not related to the grand opening.

To kick off the recycling program on opening day, customers who brought garments to be recycled before the store opened had the chance to win H&M gift cards valued between $50 and $100.

H&M is on the first floor of the Natick Mall. It is located at the corner of the main floor with the J.C. Penney wing.

H&M is open Natick Mall hours: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
