The town funded the $275,000 difference between the Town Meeting vote and the grant using its open space stabilization fund.
“This looked like 12.5 acres, but it really fits so importantly into Wittenborg Woods and some adjacent open space preserved in neighboring Sudbury, and it really is a testament to small pieces, fitting into a bigger vision for north-west Framingham,” said Framingham Town Manager Bob Halpin Tuesday morning on site at the property.
Conservation Administrator Rob McArthur led the group on the short half-mile hike Tuesday morning.
The Conservation Commission plans to host a Discovery Walk for the public on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.
