Sobriety Checkpoint Planned for Labor Day Weekend
The checkpoints will be "operated during varied hours" in Middlesex County heading into the Labor Day weekend.

Next weekend is Labor Day weekend, marking the unofficial end of summer and the Massachusetts State Police will hold a Sobriety Checkpoint in Middlesex County.
The checkpoint will be held Friday, Sept. 4 into Saturday, Sept. 5 in Middlesex County.
According to State Police, the purpose of the checkpoint is “to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways. It will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety.”

The Massachusetts State Police headquarters is located in Framingham, which is is Middlesex County.
