Traffic Alert: Road Construction in Framingham This Week

CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Construction of the new bridge will continue. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.

COBURN STREET AREA: The contractor will continue curbing and sidewalk work on Bethany Road, Bridges Street, Bridges Street Extension and Clifford Street. In addition, water main replacement will begin on Cedar Street from Cypress Street to Winthrop Street. Expect delays.

CONCORD STREET (Route 126) DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: The MassDOT contractor will continue construction activities on Hollis Street, Concord Street and Irving Street. Expect moderate delays and on-street parking restrictions.

DYER STREET: Open to local residents only during water main installation work.

EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue night work Monday through Friday evening; from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Anticipated construction includes conduit installation on Hollis Street. Expect moderate delays.

MAIN STREET: The contractor will continue to install water services on Main Street between the Sudbury River Bridge and Union Avenue. A detour will be in place Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on this section of the roadway. Please seek alternate route. Expect delays.

Night work will continue Sunday-Thursday 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. between Franklin Street and High Street. One-way alternating traffic will be implemented on this section of the roadway. Police details will be on site to facilitate traffic. Expect moderate delays.

MILLWOOD STREET AND WINCH STREET: Construction signage and traffic calming table installation will begin. Open to local residents and businesses only. A detour is anticipated to be in effect during installation of tables on Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21. Traffic will be detoured from Millwood Street, to Blackberry Lane, to Grove Street onto Winch Street and then back to Millwood Street.

NICHOLAS ROAD: A Hot Mix Asphalt leveler course is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18. Expect significant delays.

ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Construction continues on the middle section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect moderate delays.

WATER STREET: Final paving of the roadway is anticipated for Tuesday, August 18. Expect significant delays during paving.
