West Nile In Framingham Prompts Mosquito Spraying

Here's the spray schedule for this week in Framingham.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Framingham joined the many cities and towns in Massachusetts who have reported detecting west nile virus in mosquitoes.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project beginning on Monday, Aug. 27, begins using truck-mounted aerosol sprayers to apply Sumithrin in Framingham. All spraying is scheduled to be done between dusk and 11:30 p.m.

  • On Monday, Aug. 27, spraying is planned for neighborhoods in Framingham that are located near Grant Street, Aberdeen Road, Jean Street, Kellogg Street, Debra Lane, Highgate Road, Morse Road, and Randy Road.
  • On Tuesday, Aug. 28, spraying is planned for neighborhoods that are located near Central Street, Prospect Street, Lockland Avenue, Beacon Street, Cherry Street, Hardy Street, Gorman Road, Grant Street, Stonybrook Road, Walnut Street, Maple Street, Temple Street, Mill Street, Belknap Road, Blackberry Lane and Raleigh Road.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 30, spraying is scheduled for areas of Framingham that are located in the vicinity of Stillmeadow Way, Duggan Drive and Cahill Park. Spraying will also be done in areas south of Waverly Street near Fay Road, Bethany Road, Winthop Street, Hollis Street and Irving Street.

If spraying should be postponed for any reason on Monday or Tuesday, it will be rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. If spraying is postponed on Thursday, it will be rescheduled for the following week.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project uses a spray formulation that contains the pesticide product, Anvil, to control mosquitoes.
