2-Alarm Fire At Wyman-Gordon Draws Regional Response
Firefighters from Westborough and Sutton joined the fight against the Thursday morning blaze.
GRAFTON, MA β Several local fire departments helped fight a Thursday morning two-alarm fire at the Wyman-Gordon factory in Grafton, according to fire officials.
The fire broke out before dawn at the Route 122 Wyman-Gordon facility. The fire was located underneath a 50-ton press, according to the Grafton Fire Department. Firefighters from Westborough and Sutton helped put out the flames.
"Although challenging at times with the fireβs location, crews managed to put it out with minimal damage to the valuable piece of equipment," Grafton firefighters said.

During the fire, firefighters from Upton, Northbridge and Millbury traveled to Grafton to cover the town during the Wyman-Gordon incident.
The Grafton Wyman-Gordon plant, originally built in 1946 by the U.S. government, contains an array of presses used to forge industrial products, from airplane landing gear to turbines.
