New Evidence Released In Grafton Girl's 1993 Slaying: DA
Holly Piirainen, 10, was last seen leaving a home in Sturbridge in Aug. 1993. Her skeleton was found three months later.

GRAFTON, MA β The Hampden District Attorney has released new evidence in the unsolved murder of Holly Piirainen, the 10-year-old Grafton girl who was abducted from Sturbridge 30 years ago.
District Attorney Anthony Gulluni announced that the office is seeking information about a T-shirt found in Brimfield near where Holly's body was found. The shirt is white, sleeveless, and says "Boston" across the top front in red, black and blue letters.
Holly was last seen on Aug. 5, 1993, headed from her grandparent's house to South Shore Road in Sturbridge to play with puppies at a different home. Her skeletal remains were found in Brimfield on Oct. 23, 1993.

"We are seeking the public's assistance for any information about this shirt," Gulluni said. "We are interested in determining who owned the shirt, its origin or places where it was known to be sold, anything about its manufacture or any information regarding its association with the area where Holly was found in the Five Bridge Road area of Brimfield."
In 2012, officials said they found a forensic link connecting former Springfield resident David Pouliot to Holly's murder. Pouliot died at age 49 in 2003, officials said at the time.
