West Nile Virus Detected In Mosquitoes In Grafton

GRAFTON, MA — West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes in certain areas of town, so in coordination with the Board of Health and Town Administrator's Office, the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) will spray the designated areas of concern either on Thursday, Sept. 2 evening or on Friday, Sept. 3, depending on weather conditions.

Spraying will be done in the area of the following roads:

• Adams Road
• Appaloosa Drive
• Bridle Ridge Drive
• Chiswell Road
• Coach House Road
• Gershom Drive
• Glen Street
• Glenwood Lane
• Morgan Drive
• Old Westboro Road
• Robin Drive
• Saddle Hill Circle
• Stoneybrook Road

It is important to note that the Virus was found in captured mosquitoes and that no animals or individuals have tested positive for the Virus. However, residents within the areas listed should still take precautions to lower their risk.

Precautions include wearing long sleeve clothing when outdoors to keep mosquitoes away, being aware of peak hours (dusk to dawn) and wearing insect repellent. A complete list of precautions and advice can be found on the MDPH website.
