• State gives Central Mass. region $5M bandaid as it waits for new medical center to be built (masslive.com) — Groton’s fire department will receive at least $100,000 from a new $5 million state grant package meant to shore up emergency medical services after Nashoba Valley Medical Center’s closure. Officials say the funding will help cover longer ambulance trips while UMass Memorial builds a satellite emergency facility in Groton, slated to open by early 2027 with full emergency, imaging, and lab services.
