Police ID Man Found Floating Near Dock

AMESBURY, MA – Someone spotted a body floating in the water near a dock in the Merrimack River on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Essex District Attorney's office.

Authorities identified the man as Daniel Jose Abad-Pareja, 35, of Brick, NJ. The official cause of death won't be determined until an autopsy is completed, according to the Essex District Attorney's office.

Police responded to 2 Pleasant Road in Amesbury, including Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney's office.

The incident is under investigation.
