"The Boys in the Boat": The Rest of the Story
Here the story behind the story of the bestselling book from central figure's great nephew, Jim Pocock, at the Beverly Library.

Beverly, MA - If you have read Daniel J. Brown’s bestseller, The Boys in the Boat, you’ll be familiar with boat builder George Pocock, a central figure in the book.
Pocock was arguably the single most influential man in crew racing for over half a century, and revered mentor to thousands of oarsmen and dozens of coaches throughout the United States.
On Wednesday night, area residents will have the opportunity to hear George Pocock’s great-nephew, Jim Pocock, speak at the Beverly Public Libray about his personal memories of his great-uncle and the development of the sport of rowing in America. Jim will also tell many rich stories that are omitted in the book.
