North Shore Brush Fire Rages For 6 Hours In Windy Conditions
Mutual aid helped battle the three-alarm fire that burned for about six hours in the area of the Danvers-Wenham SwampWalk.

WENHAM, MA — More than a half-dozen fire crews from across the North Shore responded to a large brush fire in Wenham on Wednesday in one of the first reported significant outdoor blazes of the spring season.
Wenham Fire Chief Stephen Kavanagh said crews responded to the area of the Danvers-Wenham SwampWalk at about 3:30, where they found "an actively burning brush fire that appeared to be growing rapidly due to the winds."
The three-alarm fire required pumps and a tanker truck to attack the flames with mutual aid response from Danvers, Boxford, Topsfield, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Seat and Middleton, as well as the Massachusetts Department of Forestry.
