Hamilton Police Chief to Serve as Interim Town Manager

Town Manager Michael Lombardo will be out on leave.

HAMILTON, MA – Police Chief Russell Stevens will take over for Town Manager Michael Lombardo while he is out on leave. Stevens has previously served as interim town manager during Lombardo's time off.

According to the Town of Hamilton blog, Lombardo is out on leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. He could be out for 6 to 8 weeks, but could also return sooner. Board of Selectmen Chairman Scott Maddern said he expects Lombardo "won't miss a beat when he returns."

With Stevens covering the town manager's position, no interruptions are expected in town services. Lt. Scott Janes will cover the police department.
