How Much Rain Fell in Hamilton and Wenham?

After several inches of rain fell Tuesday, light rain and showers are coming back through the area Wednesday afternoon.

The heavy rain from Tuesday’s Nor’Easter lasted throughout the day and night, causing street flooding in some areas and leaving many basements wet.

Just how much rain fell in Hamilton and Wenham?

It is likely somewhere between 4 inches and 5.4 inches.

There is no official weather station in Hamilton or Wenham, but according to the National Weather Service, as of 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 3.99 inches of rain had fallen at the weather station at Beverly Airport. A portion of the airport sits in Wenham. In neighboring Ipswich, 5.4 inches of rain had fallen as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the weather service. Also, next door in Topsfield, 4.5 inches of rain fell as of 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

More light rain, followed by showers will move into the area Wednesday afternoon. Snow showers are expected Thursday morning before warmer, yet partly cloudy skies return on Friday. The weekend looks cool and dry.
