"The Equalizer" is now in theaters.

A movie with some scenes shot in Hamilton last summer is now in theaters.

“The Equalizer” hit theaters on Friday, and stars Denzel Washington playing a character named McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston, according to a synopsis of the movie from Sony Pictures.

It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and is loosely based on a 1980s television series by the same name.

In Hamilton, some scenes starring Washington and horses were shot at Groton House Farm and the Winthrop estate off Highland Street.
