New Wenham Finance Assistant and Payroll Clerk Starts This Month

Jill Laffin will assume her role as Wenham’s new finance department assistant and payroll clerk on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Laffin was selected for the position from a pool of more than 50 applicants, according to an update posted by Wenham Town Administrator Peter Lombardi.

Several applicants for the position were brought in for interviews and Laffin was then offered the position, Lombardi told selectmen at their July 21 meeting.

“She brings significant experience to this position, having most recently spent four years working in the Treasurer/Collector’s Office and Health Department in Dracut and another nine years in the private sector before transitioning to municipal government,” according to Lombardi’s update.

Wenham’s Finance Director Angel Wills and Treasurer/Collector Leslie Davidson took part in the screening and interview process.
