Police Seek Public's Help After Bicyclist Suffers Severe Injuries

A horse trailer struck a bicyclist along Sagamore Street, causing severe injuries last weekend.

The search continues for information about the driver of a vehicle towing a horse trailer that struck and seriously injured a bicyclist last weekend.

The bicyclist “suffered severe injuries,” according to Hamilton police, and was airlifted by a MedFlight helicopter to a Boston hospital.

It happened at 9:35 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28 on Sagamore Street near the Ipswich town line. Police did not release the bicyclist’s sex, age or hometown.

The bicyclist was struck as the trailer passed by, according to Hamilton police. The vehicle and trailer were headed south at the time of the crash and continued in that direction after the crash without stopping, police said.

A description of the vehicle or the license plate was not available, but police said the trailer was white or grey carrying at least one, or possibly two horses, witnesses told police.
