Services Planned at Fire Departments, Church to Remember Sept. 11

Remembrance services are planned at the Hamilton Public Safety Building and Wenham Fire Department on Thursday morning.

Hamilton and Wenham will each remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 during remembrance services on Thursday.

The town of Wenham will hold a brief service at 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 11 at the Wenham Fire Station on Main Street, according to Fire Chief Bob Blanchard.

In the evening, The First Church in Wenham will hold a service at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to both services.

In Hamilton, a service is planned for 10 a.m. at the Public Safety Building on Bay Road.

Each of the services will remember the victim of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, Flight 93 in Shanksville, Penn. and at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. 13 years ago.

In Boston, Gov. Deval Patrick and other state officials will honors the victims of the attacks at a flag lowering ceremony and a reading of the names of Massachusetts victims on the steps of the State House at 8:30 a.m.
