ICYMI: Woman Pleads Guilty in 2015 Hamilton Kidnapping
A Topsfield woman admitted to breaking into a Hamilton home in November and kidnapping a two-year-old child.

SALEM, MA – Abigail Hanna, the woman accused of breaking into a Hamilton home and kidnapping her former babysitting charge last November, pleaded guilty to the charges Friday afternoon in Salem Superior Court.
Hanna, 22, admitted to breaking into the home and kidnapping the 2 year old on Nov. 20, 2015, and was sentenced to five to seven years in state prison, followed by 10 years of probation.
"This defendant caused immeasurable harm to a young, defenseless child and her family," said District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett in a news release. "Her actions warrant a state prison sentence and my only hope is that this provides the family with a reprieve during which they can re-build their sense of security."

After a frantic search for the missing 2 year old, the child was found naked on the side of the road in Rowley, covered in burns and with a shaved head.
"This incident inflicted damage not only on a young child and her family but on an entire community," said Hamilton Police Chief Russell Stevens in a statement. "I remain grateful to all of the first responders and the passers-by who found the child alive that day."

Hanna cannot have unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16 under probation, and must get mental health treatment and take medication as prescribed.
