Trick or Treat in Hamilton Today
Check out the town's trick or treating hours and some safety tips from the police department.

HAMILTON, MA – The official hours for trick or treating in Hamilton are 5 to 8 p.m. on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31. The town posted the following safety tips for trick or treaters and their parents:
- Plan costumes that are bright, reflective, and fit well: especially the shoes. Costumes should be short enough to prevent tripping and entanglement.
- Add reflective tape or striping to dark costumes and trick or treat bags for better visibility.
- Look for non-toxic makeup and decorative hats as alternatives to masks, which can block eyesight. Hats should not slide over eyes, and makeup should be tested ahead of time on a patch of skin.
- Make sure costume swords, canes, or sticks are not sharp or long. These accessories can cause injuries if a child trips.
- Tell your children what to do if they have an emergency or become lost (call 9-1-1 or the Hamilton Police business line).
- A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds.
- All children and their escorts should have flashlights with fresh batteries.
- If older children are going alone, plan and review a route that is acceptable and agree on a specific time when they should return home.
- Only go to homes with an outside light on and never enter a home or car for a treat.
