Limbs down on wires and a fallen tree have forced the closing of two roads in Hamilton Tuesday afternoon.
All of Moulton Street and a portion of Bay Road (Route 1A) south of Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School (near Rock Maple Avenue) are closed following strong thunderstorms that swept through the area around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
According to an announcement from the town, Department of Public Works crews were awaiting National Grid’s electric crew as of 4:15 p.m. before beginning to work on the limbs that have fallen on wires along Moulton Street. On Bay Road, a tree has fallen and is blocking the road.
DPW Director Bill Redford said limbs are down throughout town and DPW crews will work on the small branches while private companies are contacted to handle the larger fallen debris.
