VIDEO: NEVER Deep Fry A Frozen Turkey For Thanksgiving

Local fire departments are reminding residents to be VERY careful when frying turkeys.

Hamilton Fire Chief Phil Stevens recently issued a list of reminders to keep your Thanksgiving safe.

Everything from cooking to candles can cause serious issues during the Thanksgiving holiday. Check out the full list of reminders on the Town of Hamilton blog.

Among the most dramatic potential dangers is attempting to deep fry a frozen turkey. The video below was posted on a local fire department Facebook page.

So, if you’re planning on deep frying a turkey for Thanksgiving, be absolutely certain it isn’t frozen. Watch why:

The Fire department posted the attached video to its Facebook page.

“Make sure your turkey is fully thawed and the oil level is low enough before dropping it into that vat of scalding hot oil or else disaster, injury and fire are sure to follow,” wrote the fire department.
