Wenham Police and Fire Save Dog From Ice

Police said this was the second time a dog went through the ice at the Wenham Canal.

WENHAM, MA – One lucky pup was reunited with its owner on Monday after police officers and firefighters rescued the dog from the ice on the Wenham Canal. According to a Facebook post from the Wenham Police, Firefighter Shawn McCarthy used cold water gear to retrieve the dog with assistance from other units.

Police asked people to be careful with their pets around bodies of water, since the ice has not been reliably frozen this winter.
