Hull Man Charged With Crashing Into Home While Drunk

Thomas Maciver was arrested early Sunday morning.

HULL, MA — A Hull man was drunk when he crashed his car into a house, police said.

Thomas Maciver, 21, has been charged with operating under the influence of liquor and a marked lanes violation, according to the Hull Police Department. He was taken into custody early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the crash on Phipps Street at about 2:41 a.m. At the scene, police found a car that appeared to be driven into the front of a home. Maciver was arrested after speaking with police and an investigation which allegedly led to the discovery of small bottles of alcohol inside the car.

Two people who were passengers inside the vehicle were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The house's front porch was damaged and the building inspector was called to the scene.

Maciver is due in Hingham District Court Monday.
