Dr. Mary Grant Previously Served as a Corporator and a member of its Community Advisory Committee

MountainOne, helping customers navigate the landscape of banking, insurance, and investments for almost two centuries, is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Mary Grant to its Board of Trustees. In addition, Dr. Grant was elected as a Director of MountainOne’s subsidiary, MountainOne Bank.

Grant, who has nearly 30 years of experience in public higher education, is President of Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt). She previously served as President of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) and Chancellor of the University of North Carolina Asheville. Dr. Grant served as the President of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate and as Senior Administrative Fellow for Civics and Social Justice at Bridgewater State University, leading the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice and serving as Co-Chair of the President’s Special Task Force on Racial Justice.

“It’s an honor to join MountainOne’s board,” said Dr. Mary Grant. “I have been involved with MountainOne as a Corporator and a member of its Community Advisory Committee and continue to be impressed with the organization’s commitment to the communities it serves and to diversity and inclusion.”

“Mary is a wonderful addition to our board,” said Dan Bosley, Board Chair, MountainOne. “Her breadth of experience is impressive, and we look forward to the unique perspective she will bring to the organization.”

Grant, who lives in Scituate, earned a Ph.D. from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandies University, a M.S. in Public Affairs from University of Massachusetts Boston, a B.A. in Sociology from MCLA/North Adams State University, and holds an honorary doctorate from Williams College.
