Holliston High School Students Score 89, 86 Percent On MSCAS

HOLLISTON, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) scores and Holliston High School students can be exceedingly proud of the results.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has seemingly affected scores across the Commonwealth, this is not the case in Holliston. Holliston High School far exceeded results compared to the state and exceeded results as compared to Holliston's 2019 results.

For Grade 10 English Language Arts, 35 percent of Holliston students exceeded expectations compared to 19 percent average for the state and 54 percent of Holliston students met expectations compared to 45 percent for state.

Thus, Holliston High School students had 89 percent meeting or exceeding expectations as compared to 64 percent meeting or exceeding for the state in English Language Arts.

This is compared to 2019 when 75 percent of Holliston High School students met or exceeded expectations in English.

In math, 86 percent of Holliston High School students met or exceeded expectations in 2021 compared to 52 percent for the state.

In 2019, 83 percent of Hollison High School students met or exceeded expectations in math.
