Holliston Police Log: Two Drunken-Driving Arrests, Multiple Crashes

Thursday, July 26

5:35 a.m.: A caller from Gorwin Drive reported two foxes across the street from his house. An officer checked the area with negative results.

8:24 a.m.: A person called the to report a pickup truck that had spilled paint on Mill Street. The caller said the operator was pushing the paint off the road and possibly using thinner to remove it. An officer responded with the and the operator was given a ticket for failure to secure the load.

1:24 p.m.: A resident reported a suspicious motor vehicle that had been in and out of the neighborhood. The caller said she tried to flag the vehicle down one time when it passed her but the older male driving it did not stop. Officers checked the Kingsbury Land area but could not find the vehicle.

3:38 p.m.: An auxiliary officer reported an erratic diver on Washington Street. The driver was stopped by the town hall and said that he spilled a coffee.

5:28 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Church Street and arrested the operator, Robert A. Roman, 29, of 359 Exchange St., Millis. Roman was taken in on warrants and also faces charges of operating without a valid inspection.

Friday July 27

1:19 a.m.: A caller from Water Street reported that her foster dog had run away. Officers were able to locate the beagle and return it to its owner.

1:24 a.m.: An operator was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license on Highland Street.

2:38 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle had crashed into a tree on Marshall Street, the caller also said the vehicle had been abandoned. When officers arrived on the scene the operator was there and was given an evaluation by the fire department.

8:31 a.m.: A motor vehicle crashed into a pole on South Street. The vehicle was towed; NStar and Verizon were notified of the damage.

10:20 a.m.: A caller complained of political campaigners causing a disturbance on Central Street. One sign was removed.

2:38 p.m.: A person went in to the station to return a wallet they had found in the Bertucci’s plaza. The wallet’s owner was contacted and picked up their belongings.

4:06 p.m.: Police and Fire responded to a reported of a car vs. motorcycle crash.

4:10 p.m.: Multiple callers complained about the political protesters at the intersection of Central Street and Railroad Street.

4:52 p.m.: A caller reported a female had fallen over several times while walking down the road. Officers brought the woman to the station where other arrangements were made for transportation.

6:32 p.m.: A person walked in to the station to report past juvenile incidents regarding her son and damage to his bicycle.

8:53 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a natural gas smell in the Cheryl Lane area. The source of the smell was a pilot light on a stove.

Saturday, June 28

12:14 a.m.: A caller from Adams Street reported a family issue at the residence.

1:31 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Washington and Baker streets and issued citations for violating a red light, speeding and improper display of a license plate.

4:26 a.m.: A newspaper deliverer reported that a house he delivers to had a broken window. The deliverer said he knew the homeowners were on vacation. Officers checked the area and found the home to be secure, and that the broken window was a storm window.

1:43 p.m.: A caller from Hollis Street reported a drug violation on the back deck of their neighbor’s house. When officers arrived the people in question were gone.

6:40 p.m.: A caller reported a wire was down on Oakridge Road and that it was sparking. Police and Fire responded and notified NStar who sent a truck to fix the problem.

9:19 p.m.: A group of youths were asked to leave the area.

Sunday, July 29

12:20 a.m.: An off-duty police officer reported a crash on Washington Street. Kelly Macgregor, 23, of 172 Canton St., Randolph was arrested and charged with drunken-driving.

2:47 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Concord Street at High Street and arrested Maicon Pereira, 27, of 203 Arlington St., Framingham. Pereira faces charges of drunken-driving, marked lanes violation, speeding as well as warrants.

3:11 a.m.: A caller reported a rollover crash at the intersection of Marshall Street and Gorwin Drive. The vehicle was towed. One driver was issued a summons.

11:26 a.m.: A motorist reported a vehicle on Washington Street had struck a cat. was notified.
