Hopkinton High School Students Score 89, 84 Percent On MSCAS
Hopkinton HS students rose to the occasion with 89 percent of students meeting or exceeding expectations in English and 84 percent in math.

HOPKINTON, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) scores and Hopkinton High School students can be exceedingly happy with the results.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has seemingly affected scores across the Commonwealth, this did not seem to be the case in Hopkinton. Hopkinton High School far exceeded results compared to the state and exceeded results as compared to Hopkinton 2019 results in English.
For Grade 10 English Language Arts, 33 percent of Hopkinton students exceeded expectations compared to 19 percent average for the state and 56 percent of Hopkinton students met expectations compared to 45 percent for state.

Thus, Hopkinton High School students had 89 percent meeting or exceeding expectations as compared to 64 percent meeting or exceeding for the state in English Language Arts.
This is compared to 2019 when 85 percent of Hopkinton High School students met or exceeded expectations in English.

In math, 84 percent of Hopkinton High School students met or exceeded expectations in 2021 compared to 52 percent for the state.
In 2019, 88 percent of Hopkinton High School students met or exceeded expectations in math with 2021 scores indicating a slight decline.
