Hopkinton Police Log: School Bus Crash, Multiple Break-Ins

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Thursday, Sept. 20

8:46 a.m.: A caller from Fruit Street reported vehicles parked in the roadway creating a hazard. An officer spoke with the vehicle owners.

9:52 a.m.: A resident reported an issue with their tenants. An officer responded and spoke with both people involved.

1:46 p.m.: A caller reported that it appeared as if a door to a house on Wood Street had been kicked in. Officers responded and notified the Realtor to secure the property.

3:46 p.m.: Multiple 911 callers reported a landscape truck vs. school bus crash on Wood Street. An officer responded and confirmed that there were no injuries.

5:46 p.m.: Multiple callers reported a loose horse near East Main Street with its saddle underneath it. Officers responded and reported that the horse was back in the stable however they were still searching for its rider. A short time later the Hopkinton Fire Department reported that the missing rider had been located and transported to the Milford hospital.

7:53 p.m.: A caller reported that youths were throwing rocks at vehicles on Route 495. The state police and an officer from the Hopkinton Police Department responded but did not find anything suspicious on the highway or the nearby side streets.

8:50 p.m.: A caller from Pheasant Hill Road reported returning from a walk and seeing several males running off his property. Officers responded and checked the area with a negative find on anything suspicious.

9:09 p.m.: While clearing the previous incident, officers came across a motor vehicle crash on East Street that was possibly related to the incident on Pheasant Hill. An officer spoke to the vehicle operator who said his passenger fled on foot. Officers from Holliston and Ashland assisted in the search for the male who fled. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana and both occupants were issued summons for attempting to break in to a motor vehicle and possession of burglarious tools.

10:00 p.m.: A caller reported a past breaking and entering on Jamie Lane.

Friday, Sept 21

7:01 a.m.: An officer responded to a disabled motor vehicle in the travel lane on Main Street. The officer was able to assist in moving the vehicle off the road.

8:40 a.m.: A caller from North Mill Street reported that her dog had been barking toward the door all morning. Officers informed her of the search last night and responded to check the area.

5:57 p.m.: A caller reported a complaint of a vehicle speeding up Walcott Street in the wrong direction. The caller obtained the license plate information but an officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

9:14 p.m.: An officer checked on two vehicles parked at the undeveloped end of Connelly Hill Road. Both of the vehicles were secured.

Saturday, Sept. 22

1:35 a.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported that his neighbor was having a party and it appeared as if a fight broke out. All units responded and spoke to two partygoers who were roughhousing when things got out of control. They were separated for the night.

10:27 a.m.: A caller from West Main Street reported that her small red lab had slipped out of its caller and ran off.

10:30 a.m.: A male from Fruit Street reported that every time it rains he notices diesel fuel on the street up the Westborough border.

10:48 a.m.: A caller reported that a dog was just hit by a vehicle on East Main Street near Weston Nurseries. An officer reported that the dog’s owner was on the scene and took the animal to the hospital.

1:12 p.m.: Officers responded to Baypath Humane Society for a disturbance; the people involved worked it out.

4:43 p.m.: Several callers reported possible gunshots near McHugh Lane. An officer responded and spoke to two males with proper firearms permits.

5:21 p.m.: A caller reported four youths riding up and down Deneen Street without helmets on.

10:30 p.m.: A caller from Fenton Street reported people playing games in the roadway at a house party. An officer responded and spoke to the homeowner.

Sunday, Sept. 23

5:19 p.m.: An officer checked an elderly male on School Street who had been walking. The man said he was fine.

5:20 p.m.: A caller reported that his son’s vehicle was disabled on Lumber Street near Haven Street. The caller said that a vehicle with possible Colorado plates stopped nearby and pulled a knife on the operator. A vehicle matching the description was stopped in Milford.
