Hopkinton Police Log: Stolen Plows, Assault and Battery Arrest

The following information was provided by the Hopkinton Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Wednesday, July 25

8:12 a.m.: A maintenance worker from a business on Saddle Hill Road reported that vandalism had occurred at the property over the past three nights.

1:33 p.m.: A person reported that while she was backing out a parking space on West Main Street a black pick up truck hit her vehicle and did not stop. The caller said the truck got on to route 495 south. The caller obtained the vehicle’s license plate number and officers were able to contact the owner.

12:42 p.m.: A resident of Elm Street complained about an issue with the trucks from E.L. Harvey’s in their neighborhood. An officer with the notified E.L. Harvey’s of the complaint.

2:42 p.m.: A caller from Teresa Road reported a crash on the street. Both cars were towed from the head on collision and both operators were taken to the hospital.

4:34 p.m.: A caller from Pond Street reported smoke in the area. responded and found a homeowner with a small fire they were putting out.

4:40 p.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported that her son witnessed a pick up truck spilling several packing peanuts. An officer checked the area but was not able to locate any packing peanuts.

6:08 p.m.: A complaint application was filed for a violation of a restraining order on Baker Lane.

6:31 p.m.: An officer checked a pick up truck parked behind the church on Wood Street. The back doors of the church were open and the person was in the church doing some work.

9:02 p.m.: Officers arrested Albano Correia, 40, of 82 Glenn Meadow Rd., Franklin. Correia is charged with assault and battery as well as violating a restraining order.

10:07 p.m.: A caller from Peter Porcaro Drive reported what sounded like a single gunshot in the woods near the pond behind her house. An officer checked the area but found it to be all-quiet.

Thursday, July 26

4:20 a.m.: A caller reported the sound of a woman screaming somewhere behind her house on West Main Street. An officer determined a fisher cat was making the sound.

8:09 a.m.: A person requested an officer to check a house that was under construction on East Main Street. The previous night the door was found open and the lights were on. At this time the lights were off although they had been left on.

8:58 a.m.: A resident of Cedar Street reported that two large plows had been stolen from his property.

10:43 a.m.: A caller from Ash Street requested an officer to check a vehicle that had been parked on the street near her house for a while. The caller said the vehicle was occupied, but the occupants had gotten out and walked away. An officer spoke with the operator who was changing a flat tire.

8:07 p.m.: A caller from Oakhurst Road reported that fireworks were being shot off at a neighbor’s house. Officers responded but the individuals involved had run out by the time they arrived.

9:46 p.m.: An operator was given a ticket for failure to use caution while turning after a crash on West Main Street.
